Long-Answer

Q. 1 Discuss the element of mystery in the story 'The Black Aeroplane'.

Ans: "The Black Aeroplane" is a mystery story. The narrator is flying his old Dakota plane toward England when he gets trapped inside black clouds. Suddenly, all his instruments, including the compass and radio, go completely dead. Out of nowhere, a mysterious black aeroplane appears beside him.

The mystery deepens because this plane has no lights on its wings, yet the narrator can clearly see the pilot’s face.
