Long Answer

Q 1. Why did Margie hate school? Why did she think the old kind of school must have been fun?

Ans. Margie hated school because it has no fun. She had a mechanical teacher who taught her at a fixed time every day. She hated to give test after test. She had to write her answers in a punch code. Another reason was that she was failing to perform well in geography tests.

She thought that the old kind of school must have been fun. She imagined all the kids coming, laughing and shouting together in the schoolyard. They would sit together in the classroom and go home together. They would learn the same things and could help one another in the homework. The teachers were also human beings who made the learning process more interactive and interesting.
