Long Answer

*1. How did Gerrard outwit the intruder?*

Ans. Gerrard maintained his calm when the armed intruder threatened him. Instead of panicking, he used his wit and dramatic skills as a playwright to create a fake story. He convinced the intruder that he was also a murderer running from the law, and that his car was ready for an escape. He pointed toward a door, claiming it led to the garage. When the intruder stepped forward to inspect it, Gerrard pushed him inside, knocked the revolver out of his hand, and locked the door. The door was actually a cupboard, and that is how Gerrard outwitted him.
